Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to step into a key leadership role at their North Gold Coast / Southern Brisbane-based office.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a career-defining role where you'll step into a senior delivery position, taking ownership of key project components while supporting leadership across major transport and civil infrastructure programmes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of civil construction works
• Manage and mentor Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and site teams
• Oversee construction activities from initiation through to completion and handover
• Administer contracts including variations, progress claims, and cost control
• Work closely with supervisors, contractors, and consultants to ensure efficient delivery outcomes.
• Monitor and manage programs, budgets, and construction risks
• Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality standards
• Provide accurate reporting on project progress, cost performance, and risks
• Contribute to continuous improvement and construction innovation

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a small team of engineers, technical and field staff
• Manage the delivery of civil transport and civil infrastructure construction program
• Oversee construction works from restart through to practical completion and defects
• Act as the civil construction lead, coordinating contractors, superintendents and consultants
• Manage contracts, variations, progress claims, claims and construction risk
• Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and quality requirements
• Proactively resolve construction issues to protect program and budget outcomes
• Provide clear reporting on progress, cost, safety and risk to senior stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

You will have:

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering
• Experiences as a Project or Senior Project Engineer
• Strong background in transport and civil infrastructure construction
• Demonstrated experience managing contractors and construction delivery programs
• Proven leadership experience overseeing site‑based or delivery teams
• Strong understanding of construction risk management, WHS and quality systems
• Well-developed communication skills and stakeholder management capability
• Familiarity with Queensland construction standards and contract forms
