About the role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Java and Spring Boot. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in backend development and microservices, with practical experience working with Alibaba Cloud and the ability to collaborate effectively with bilingual regional teams.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices using Java and Spring Boot
Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services to support high-performance and reliable applications
Design solutions and implement cloud-native applications and deployments within the Alibaba Cloud (AliCloud) environment
Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement performance, reliability, and code quality improvements
Collaborate with architects, product teams, DevOps engineers, and regional stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum 7 years of professional experience in backend software development, with strong hands-on experience in Java-based enterprise applications
Proven experience working with Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native application development
Bilingual in English and Chinese to effectively collaborate with regional stakeholders and cross-functional teams across APAC
Strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot, including microservices development, RESTful API design, object-oriented programming, and enterprise application development
Hands-on experience with Alibaba Cloud (AliCloud) and cloud-native application deployment, integration, and operations
Strong understanding of software engineering practices, including system design, database integration, testing, debugging, Git-based development, and CI/CD
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployments
Knowledge of messaging and event-driven technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and DevOps practices
