  • Promote rights-based, person-centred and evidence-informed approaches to supporting people with disability.
  • Provide training and guidance on human rights, safeguarding, communication, positive behaviour support and risk management.
  • Identify practice gaps, capability needs and emerging risks, escalating complex or high-risk matters when required.
  • Support practice reviews, audits, monitoring and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work collaboratively with operational leaders and multidisciplinary teams to improve service quality and client outcomes.
  • Provide advice and practical support to staff and managers regarding behaviours of concern and positive behaviour support.
  • Contribute to practice data, reporting and evaluation to identify opportunities for improvement.
What you will bring
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience in Human Services.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the disability sector.
  • Experience and understanding of positive behaviour support.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring staff to build capability and confidence.
  • Strong understanding of the disability service system and supports available to people with disability.
  • Experience evaluating practice and using data to identify and drive improvements.
  • Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to facilitate change and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A creative, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A genuine commitment to human rights, person-centred practice and positive outcomes for people with disability.
  • Current Australian C class driver's licence and ability to travel between sites, including interstate travel as required.
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWSC) and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Willingness to complete a National Police Check through Afford’s pre-employment process.
