TRT Australia is seeking an experienced and patient-focused Nurse Practitioner to join our growing telehealth team.

This is a fully remote clinical position focused on assessing, diagnosing and managing eligible adult male patients presenting with symptoms potentially associated with testosterone deficiency.

You will work within a modern, highly supported clinical environment while retaining responsibility for your own independent clinical assessments, treatment decisions and prescribing.

TRT Australia provides an online enquiry, intake and administrative coordination pathway through which individuals can engage with appropriately qualified healthcare practitioners.

Our systems are designed to reduce unnecessary administrative work and allow practitioners to focus on clinical assessment, decision-making and patient care.

Practitioners remain independently responsible for determining whether treatment is clinically appropriate, establishing an individual treatment plan and deciding whether a prescription should be issued. TRT Australia does not direct or override practitioners’ independent clinical judgment.

What You’ll Do

Conduct structured telehealth consultations with adult male patients.

Take and review relevant medical histories, symptoms, previous treatment information and pathology results.

Assess patients presenting with symptoms potentially associated with testosterone deficiency.

Request, review and interpret relevant pathology within your authorised scope of practice.

Form independent diagnoses and clinical management plans.

Determine whether testosterone therapy or another management pathway is clinically appropriate.

Issue prescriptions independently through your own approved electronic prescribing platform where clinically appropriate and legally permitted.

Explain treatment options, potential benefits, limitations, risks and monitoring requirements.

Provide informed-consent discussions and appropriate patient education.

Conduct ongoing pathology, medication and clinical progress reviews.

Adjust, continue, pause or discontinue treatment according to your independent clinical judgment.

Identify contraindications, clinical risks and circumstances requiring referral to a general practitioner, specialist or emergency service.

Maintain accurate, timely and professional clinical records.

Practise consistently with NMBA standards, Ahpra requirements, applicable prescribing legislation and relevant clinical guidelines.

Contribute to clinical governance, protocol development and continuous quality improvement.

Comfortable identifying when treatment is not appropriate

Able to work collaboratively with administrative staff while maintaining independent clinical responsibility

Salary and Employment Structure

The salary range for this position is:

$125,000–$155,000 per year, plus superannuation where applicable.

The final remuneration package will be determined according to:

Nurse Practitioner experience

Men’s health or endocrinology experience

Primary care experience

Testosterone therapy experience

Telehealth experience

Pathology interpretation experience

Prescribing and medication-management experience

Clinical governance or leadership capability

The position offers predictable earnings rather than variable per-prescription remuneration.

Expected consultation volumes, clinical-review responsibilities, working hours and performance expectations will be clearly discussed before commencement.

There may also be opportunities for increased remuneration and clinical leadership responsibilities as the position develops.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must have:

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Ahpra

Current endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

No restrictions or conditions that would prevent the applicant from performing the responsibilities of this role

Current professional indemnity insurance appropriate to their scope of practice

Australian residency or an unrestricted legal right to work and practise in Australia

Appropriate prescribing authority for the medicines relevant to the position

The ability to prescribe electronically through an approved e-prescribing service

Demonstrated experience undertaking independent clinical assessments

Experience requesting, reviewing and interpreting pathology

Strong understanding of medication safety, contraindications and ongoing monitoring

Excellent written documentation and telehealth communication skills

A suitable private and professional environment from which to conduct confidential consultations

Reliable internet access and confidence using online clinical systems

The successful candidate must practise only within their individual competence, professional scope and applicable state, territory and Commonwealth requirements.
