About the Role

The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating the Maintenance Team to ensure company facilities, grounds, vehicles, plant, tooling, and equipment are maintained in a safe, functional, organised, and professional condition.

This hands-on leadership role combines practical maintenance work with responsibility for supervising team members, coordinating contractors, allocating work, and ensuring maintenance activities are completed to the required standard. The Maintenance Team Lead works closely with management to implement maintenance schedules, preventative maintenance programs, facility improvement initiatives, and asset management activities.

The role is responsible for ensuring maintenance work is planned, prioritised, completed, and recorded appropriately while supporting the team to achieve company maintenance, presentation, safety, and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Coordination

Lead, supervise, and support the Maintenance Team.

Allocating work priorities and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard

Facility Maintenance & Site Upkeep

Coordinate maintenance across all facilities, buildings, and infrastructure to keep the site safe, functional, and professionally presented

Grounds, Gardens & Site Presentation

Oversee grounds maintenance including mowing, gardening, and outdoor area upkeep to maintain site presentation standards

Vehicle Fleet Coordination

Manage vehicle inspections, servicing, registrations, and compliance to keep the fleet roadworthy and well maintained

Plant, Equipment & Tooling

Coordinate servicing, inspections, and repairs of plant, equipment, tooling, and the forklift, keeping all assets safe and fit for purpose

Maintenance Requests & Reactive Repairs

Receive, prioritise, and action maintenance requests, completing repairs directly or coordinating contractors as required

Contractor & Supplier Coordination

Liaise with contractors and suppliers, obtain quotes, and monitor quality of completed works

Procurement & Administration

Raise Purchase Orders, track maintenance inventory, and support expenditure tracking in line with company procedures

Systems & Reporting

Manage work orders, inspection records, and maintenance documentation through AroFlo, providing regular updates to management

Site Improvements & Projects

Assist management in coordinating facility upgrade and improvement projects from planning through to completion

Safety & Compliance

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with WHS requirements, promoting safe work practices and a compliant work environment

Who we're looking for

We're looking for a practical, organised, and people-focused leader who takes real pride in keeping a site running at its best. You'll be someone who is equally comfortable planning and coordinating as you are rolling up your sleeves and getting the job done alongside your team. You bring experience in facilities or maintenance coordination, know how to juggle competing priorities without dropping the ball, and have the communication skills to work effectively with tradespeople, contractors, and management alike.

Requirements

Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a facilities management, maintenance, or trade-related role.

Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

Proficiency with digital work order and maintenance systems; experience with AroFlo or similar CMMS highly regarded.

Demonstrated ability to obtain supplier quotes and manage procurement processes.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Valid driver's licence (mandatory).

White Card (Construction Induction) preferred.

Forklift licence (mandatory).

First Aide/CPR Certification (desirable)
