The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure is looking for motivated people interested in a career in civil construction.

The Transport and Civil Infrastructure team is offering opportunities to earn while you learn in the Technical Trainee Program. As a trainee, you will contribute to the planning, delivery and maintenance of essential infrastructure that supports safe, efficient and reliable transport across urban, regional and remote communities.

Whether you’ve recently completed year 12 or are looking for a career change, this program provides the knowledge and hands-on experience required to become a successful project officer.

About the role
Work alongside experienced project managers to build skills in:

Project and contract management

Safe road network operations

Delivery of capital and minor works

Repairs and maintenance programs

About the program
The Technical Trainee Program combines practical experience with a nationally recognised Certificate IV qualification.

Throughout the 24month program, you will have opportunities to gain experience across a range of work units, including Civil Infrastructure, Road and Traffic Operations and Civil Maintenance.

About you
You are interested in working in a construction and project management environment and take pride in contributing to a team that delivers infrastructure with real impact for communities.

To be considered, you must:

Have completed year 12 or have relevant industry experience

Hold a current NT driver licence

Benefits
You will have access to NT Government employment conditions, including:

6 weeks recreation leave and 3 days Christmas shutdown

3 weeks personal leave

17.5% annual leave loading

Work environment
These roles are based in Palmerston, Katherine and Tennant Creek. Travel to regional and remote locations may be required.
