About the Role

The Telecommunications Delivery Manager leads the planning and execution of the Brisbane 2032 telecommunications programme. Responsible for managing key suppliers, commercial contracts, and complex connectivity services-including carrier networks, fibre, and wireless systems-this role ensures seamless integration across all Games venues. Working alongside internal technology teams and major external stakeholders, you will oversee procurement, risk management, and testing to deliver a fully operational, world-class network for the Games

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier & Contract Management: Oversee telecommunications suppliers and contracts to ensure deliverables, commercial performance, milestones, and service levels are met.
  • Connectivity Services: Coordinate the planning, integration, and deployment of carrier services, fibre infrastructure, network connectivity, wireless, and radio systems across all operational locations.
  • Technical Governance & Advice: Serve as a trusted advisor to the Technology team, reviewing technical documentation, applying industry standards, and managing delivery risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate across internal teams (Venues, Procurement, Legal) and external partners (IOC, Deloitte D.TEC, government agencies, and venue owners).
  • Games Readiness: Support market engagement, testing, commissioning, test events, and operational transition into Games-time operations

Skills and Experience

  • Telecommunications Expertise: Proven experience in carrier services, fibre, network connectivity, wireless, and radio services.
  • Programme Delivery: Track record of delivering complex telecommunications programmes within carrier, enterprise, major infrastructure, or large-scale operational environments.
  • Commercial & Supplier Expertise: Strong commercial acumen with experience managing MSPs, systems integrators, procurement, and multi-supplier environments.
  • Stakeholder & Governance Skills: Excellent communication, influencing, problem-solving, and risk/governance management capabilities.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Telecommunications, IT, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Desirable: Experience with major sporting events, venue infrastructure, or operational readiness.
