About the Position:

WorkPac is seeking an experienced High Voltage Site Project Manager to lead the delivery and execution of HV electrical works on major data centre projects. This is a pivotal site based leadership role overseeing HV installations, testing, commissioning coordination, and interface with civil, mechanical, and client teams.

Key responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day HV site delivery including installation, testing, and practical completion of substations, switchgear, transformers, and associated infrastructure.

Develop and maintain short- and long-range construction programs to align with project milestones.

Coordinate and supervise site teams, subcontractors, and HV specialists to deliver works safely and efficiently.

Liaise with design, commissioning, and client teams to ensure seamless integration across all electrical packages.

Manage HV switching programs, isolation plans, and Permit-to-Work systems in compliance with regulatory and safety frameworks.

Oversee QA/QC processes, cable testing, terminations, and verification of installation to design standards.

Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for constructability and compliance.

Prepare progress reports, manage variations, and monitor budget expenditures and resource allocations.

Drive high safety and quality standards through leadership, mentoring, and strong site presence.

Coordinate energisation schedules and support commissioning leads through pre-energisation testing.

Skills and experience:

7+ years’ experience in HV project delivery or construction management within the electrical contracting sector.

Proven track record delivering high voltage projects (11kV–66kV) for data centres, industrial, or utility infrastructure.

Strong understanding of electrical installation standards, HV safety rules, and Victorian energy regulations.

Experience managing site resources, subcontractors, schedule, and cost in a dynamic environment.

Trade qualification or tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Sound knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, AS 2067, and Victorian Blue Book standards.

Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

HV Switching Operator accreditation (Victoria).

Experience using project management tools (MS Project, Aconex, or Primavera).

Exposure to data centre or mission-critical project delivery environments.

Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
