As our Traffic Management / Project Support Officer, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, compliant and well-planned infrastructure projects across the region. This is an opportunity to move beyond a purely operational traffic management role and become involved in project planning, safety, compliance, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives that support Council's capital and maintenance works programs.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Construction Engineer / Coordinator, you will provide technical support and advice to construction teams on traffic management, safety, quality and environmental management matters.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs).
Supporting construction supervisors and crews with traffic management requirements.
Conducting site inspections, compliance checks and audits.
Assisting with the development and implementation of safety and project documentation.
Monitoring contractor performance and compliance with traffic management requirements.
Liaising with internal stakeholders, contractors, businesses and members of the public to help minimise project impacts.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives relating to safety, quality and traffic management.
About You:
You will ideally have:
Current Queensland "C" Class Driver Licence, or the ability to obtain.
General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) Card (White Card), or the ability to obtain.
Traffic Management Design (TMD) qualification, or a willingness and ability to obtain.
Experience in traffic management, civil construction, road maintenance, infrastructure delivery or a related field.
Knowledge of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs) and traffic management practices.
Experience undertaking site inspections, compliance checks or audits is desirable.
Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
