Eastern Palliative Care (EPC) is seeking a talented and passionate Grants Writer to join our Philanthropy and Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled writer and relationship builder who can transform impactful programs and services into compelling funding proposals that help us grow sustainable income and expand our community impact.
About the Role
As our Grants Writer, you will identify, research and develop funding opportunities across trusts, foundations, government programs, community organisations and corporate giving programs. You'll work closely with leaders and service teams to create persuasive grant applications, funding proposals and reports that clearly demonstrate community need, program impact and alignment with funder priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
Researching and identifying grant opportunities.
Writing compelling grant applications, proposals and expressions of interest.
Managing grant deadlines, reporting requirements and funding calendars.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather project information, budgets and outcomes data.
Preparing acquittals, impact reports and funder updates.
Maintaining accurate grant records and tracking funding outcomes.
About You
You are a strong writer with a proven ability to create persuasive submissions that achieve results. You thrive on balancing research, storytelling and attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience writing successful grant applications or funding proposals.
Exceptional written communication and storytelling skills.
Strong research, planning and organisational abilities.
The ability to build effective relationships across teams and gather information from diverse stakeholders.
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
An understanding of fundraising, philanthropy or the not-for-profit sector.

About Eastern Palliative Care
Eastern Palliative Care (EPC) is a not-for-profit home-based palliative care service which offers a full range of support programs with the aim of improving the quality of life of individuals, carers and families of those suffering life-limiting or terminal illnesses. Clients can be referred by treating doctors, local hospitals, treating specialists, allied health professionals, by self or by family members and friends.
EPC PROVIDES SPECIALIST PALLIATIVE CARE SERVICES FREE OF CHARGE IN YOUR HOME.
EPC is the largest single provider of community based palliative care services in Victoria. Our services are provided in the Local Government areas of Boroondara, Manningham, Maroondah, Monash, Whitehorse, Knox and Yarra Ranges.
Eastern Palliative Care is a partnership between the Order of Malta, Outer East Palliative Care Service Inc and St Vincent's Hospital (Melbourne) Ltd.
-Palliative care:
◾Affirms life and regards dying as a normal process
◾Neither hastens nor postpones death
◾Provides relief from pain and other distressing symptoms
◾Integrates the physical, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of care
◾Offers a support system to help people live as actively as possible until death
◾Offers a support system to help the family cope during the person’s illness & their own bereavement
◾Palliative care is provided to people of all ages who are dying.
