About the role
Leaders Institute is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our Brisbane team on a full-time basis. In this key role, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the Institute by maintaining accurate records, managing accounts, processing financial transactions, and ensuring bookkeeping activities are completed efficiently and accurately. Your work will play an important part in supporting the financial integrity and smooth operation of the organisation.
What you'll be doing
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Preparing and issuing invoices and receipts.
Collecting, recording and following up student tuition fee payments.
Maintaining accurate student financial and payment records.
Processing supplier invoices and approved payments.
Performing bank and account reconciliations.
Recording day-to-day accounting transactions.
Preparing basic financial and reconciliation reports.
Responding to routine finance and payment enquiries from students, staff and suppliers.
Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and supporting documentation.
What we're looking for
Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification, such as Certificate IV in Accounting or equivalent experience
Proven experience in a bookkeeping or small practice accounting role, ideally 2+ years
Strong proficiency with accounting software packages and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial procedures
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Professional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members
A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information professionally
Familiarity with Australian taxation and superannuation compliance requirements is preferred
