The Federal Government Agency is seeking an APS6 Project Officer based in Sydney.

This Federal Government Department is at the forefront of improving and revolutionising technologies related to health across the nation. They are currently seeking an APS6 Project Support Officer based in the Sydney CBD office to join the team on a Labour Hire Contract through to the end of January 2027, with the possibility of extension.
Your new role
This role is to support the delivery of a significant office relocation and workplace fit-out project. This labour hire contract is available through to 31 January 2027, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.
Reporting to the project leadership team, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of a large-scale office accommodation project. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants and service providers to ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of office relocation and fit-out projects
- Coordinating project activities, timelines, risks and reporting
- Assisting with stakeholder engagement across business areas and external providers
- Monitoring project budgets, procurement activities and project documentation
- Supporting contractor and consultant management throughout project delivery
- Contributing to project governance, reporting and executive briefings
- Assisting with the management of workplace transitions and accommodation solutions
- Ensuring project activities comply with relevant government policies and frameworks
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a Project Officer, Project Coordinator or similar role
- Experience supporting capital works, office accommodation, refurbishment or fit-out projects
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience preparing project documentation, reports and briefings
- Understanding of project delivery methodologies and governance frameworks
- Experience working within a Federal or State Government environment will be highly regarded
- A Baseline Security Clearance is preferred
- Ability to work in the office at a minimum of 4 days per week
What you'll get in return
- Hourly rate of $65 - $75 per hour + Super
