GetCareers is currently seeking a motivated individual to undertake a Mechanical Fitting Apprenticeship with a reputable and established local Host Employer based in Davenport. This is a full-time opportunity to earn while you learn and work toward a nationally recognised qualification – Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade).
Employment Details
Location: Davenport
Employment Type: Full-time (5 days per week, 38 hours per week) Weekend work may be required, subject to operational requirements.
Term of Apprenticeship: 4 years
Weekend Work
This position may involve weekend work, predominantly on Saturdays, as required by operational needs. Applicants should consider their existing weekend commitments and ensure they have the flexibility to meet the work requirements of the role.
Pre-Employment Requirements
As part of the recruitment process, successful applicants may be required to complete:
- A pre-employment medical
- Drug and alcohol screening
- Aptitude testing
About the Role
As an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter (Hydraulics), duties may include:
- Learn to repair, maintain and assemble hydraulic systems and mechanical components
- Assist qualified tradespeople with servicing and repairs of hydraulic equipment
- Develop skills in fault finding, testing and diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Safely use a range of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and industry best practices
- Complete off-the-job training as part of your Certificate III in Engineering apprenticeship
What We're Looking For
We are open to assessing any suitable applicant and would highly regard applicants who:
- Have a farming or agricultural background
- Have a genuine interest in mechanics or previous mechanical experience
- Hold a current Class C Driver's Licence (manual)
- Are reliable, motivated and eager to learn
- Work well in a team and have a positive attitude
- Have a strong commitment to workplace safety
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Reside within reasonable travelling distance of Davenport
- Be Willing to undertake and complete a Certificate III in Engineering apprenticeship
