Your Employer
Our client is an established, family-owned agribusiness operating a high-quality broiler chicken enterprise near Warwick. The poultry operation currently comprises 16 modern broiler sheds with Skov controllers and a combined stocking rate of approximately 800,000 birds. The business has invested significantly in its facilities over recent years, with strong shed infrastructure, reliable water systems, modern monitoring and well-maintained plant and equipment.

With development approval in place for a future shed expansion, the operation offers stability, scale and potential future growth. This role will suit a practical poultry manager who wants to take ownership of a well-run site and continue lifting standards through strong people leadership and sound technical management.

The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operation of a 16-shed broiler enterprise, overseeing bird performance, staff, safety, compliance, maintenance coordination and reporting. The role requires a hands-on manager who can operate the poultry business as a stand-alone enterprise while maintaining strong standards across every batch.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing day-to-day broiler farm operations, including shed set-up, bird placement, welfare, weighing, reporting and removals.
  • Using Skov controllers and farm data to optimise ventilation, environmental conditions and bird performance.
  • Leading, training and supervising the 2IC and farm team, setting clear expectations and following up daily tasks.
  • Maintaining compliance with a national processor’s grower manual requirements, safety procedures, animal welfare standards and site protocols.
  • Coordinating feed deliveries, litter handling, shed clean-out, wash-down and preparation between batches.
  • Overseeing farm, shed, plant and equipment maintenance in conjunction with available maintenance support.
  • Monitoring batch budgets, input use and performance indicators including feed conversion, staff retention and safety.

About You
Our ideal candidate is an experienced poultry or intensive livestock manager who enjoys leading from the front. They will have demonstrated experience using advanced climate & production management systems (preferably Skov), strong technical judgement, clear communication and the ability to train people without losing sight of safety, welfare and commercial outcomes.

Key criteria include:

  • Extensive Poultry management experience in a similar commercial operation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Skov controllers and environmental management.
  • Proven ability to supervise, train and develop farm staff in a hands-on setting.
  • Sound understanding of bird welfare, shed preparation, batch performance and compliance requirements.
  • Mechanical aptitude across shed systems, water, generators, silos, HVAC or similar infrastructure.
  • Calm, diligent, honest and responsible approach, with willingness to live on site and support call-outs.

The Benefits
This is a strong package for an experienced poultry professional seeking a senior on-farm role with lifestyle appeal, quality infrastructure and long-term stability. The role is based on site near Warwick, with a near-new four-bedroom home with scenic views toward Cunningham's Gap and acreage to support your lifestyle.

  • Strong career growth potential.
  • Attractive remuneration package.
  • Individual and company-based performance bonuses.
  • Modern four-bedroom house with utilities and relocation support.
  • Late model Toyota Hilux dual cab Ute & fuel
