Take the next step into professional agribusiness management
Mount Gerizim Farms is seeking an experienced and motivated cropping professional to manage Yallembee, a 3,800-hectare cropping-only operation located between Coorow and Carnamah in Western Australia’s Mid West.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Farm Hand, Farm Supervisor or Farm Manager from a family farming background to step into a professionally managed agribusiness and take responsibility for a substantial cropping operation.
Yallembee operates with controlled-traffic farming practices and a full complement of John Deere equipment.
The position has become available following the internal promotion of the current Farm Manager into another role within the broader FMS-managed group.
About the business
Yallembee is part of Mount Gerizim Farms and is supported by Farming Management Services, one of Western Australia’s long-standing farm management businesses.
Established in 1966, FMS has been farming and managing agricultural operations in Western Australia for 60 years. The business provides professional support across farm operations, finance, reporting, HR, safety and administration.
This provides the successful applicant with the opportunity to manage a farm with genuine day-to-day responsibility while having access to experienced people, established systems and broader professional support.
About the role
You will be responsible for:
Managing the annual cropping program across approximately 3,800 hectares.
Planning and delivering seeding, spraying and harvest operations.
Leading farm staff, contractors and seasonal labour.
Managing the John Deere machinery fleet and workshop requirements.
Maintaining controlled-traffic farming practices.
Monitoring crop performance, input usage, budgets and seasonal risks.
Working with agronomists, suppliers and contractors.
Maintaining high standards of safety, environmental care and farm presentation.
Completing timely operational and financial reporting.
Using John Deere Operations Centre and other digital farm management systems.
About you
You will have:
Strong broadacre cropping experience.
The practical ability to manage a large-scale seasonal program.
Sound machinery knowledge, with John Deere experience highly regarded.
An understanding of controlled-traffic farming and the importance of timeliness.
Good planning, organisation and decision-making skills.
The ability to lead people clearly, fairly and safely.
A willingness to work within professional reporting and management systems.
The ambition to develop into a capable and accountable agribusiness manager.
This role would suit someone currently working as a Senior Farm Hand or Farm Supervisor who is ready to take the next step, as well as an experienced Farm Manager looking to join a larger and more professionally supported farming platform.
What we offer
Management responsibility for a substantial 3,800-hectare cropping operation.
A modern John Deere machinery platform.
Established controlled-traffic farming practices.
Support from FMS across operations, finance, HR, safety and reporting.
Genuine career development opportunities within the wider farming group.
A stable, well-resourced and professionally managed farming environment.
A competitive remuneration package based on experience.
This is an opportunity to build on your practical farming experience and establish yourself within a long-standing Western Australian farm management business.
