Are you an early-career solicitor or a conveyancer with a keen eye for detail and a genuine love of property? Join a boutique, tech-forward firm where you can run your own files from day one, with a Principal in your corner every step of the way, and you can do it all from anywhere in Queensland.
The firm
Cottage Law (trading as Cottage Conveyance) is a boutique Brisbane-based conveyancing and property law practice. We guide home buyers and sellers through their property transactions with clarity and care, because every client deserves to feel confident in the process. We're a small, close-knit team with a client-first approach and a modern, paperless way of working, and we take real pride in doing property work properly.
The role
We're seeking an early-career solicitor or conveyancer to join our conveyancing team. This is a supervised role working directly with our Principal Solicitor, ideal for someone keen to build genuine end-to-end conveyancing experience with proper support behind them. You'll report directly to the Principal Solicitor and play a key part in delivering smooth, compliant settlements across Queensland.
What you'll do
Run residential conveyancing files end to end, purchases and sales, A to Z.
Run off the plan files, review contracts and advise clients on terms, special conditions and risks.
Assist with commercial conveyancing matters as your experience grows.
Settle and lodge through PEXA, and prepare transfer duty assessments and lodgements.
Draft Form 2s and related transfer and title documents.
Liaise with clients, agents, brokers, lenders and other solicitors to keep matters on track.
Look after client and referral enquiries, and finalise, invoice and archive your own files.
About you
You're either an admitted solicitor (or eligible for admission) holding a current Queensland practising certificate or able to obtain one; OR an experienced conveyancer who knows their way around a residential file and doesn't need admission to do the work well. We're genuinely open on this, and the right person matters more than the title.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle competing files and deadlines with confidence.
Tech-savvy and comfortable across digital platforms (PEXA and Smokeball/triConvey highly regarded, not essential, we're happy to teach).
A proactive mindset, a willingness to learn and a strong sense of accountability.
Warm, clear communication and a good telephone manner. Communication is everything in conveyancing, whether it's a nervous first home buyer or a referral partner.
A team-first attitude and a desire to grow with a firm that values support and collaboration.
Why join us
We're a close-knit, low-ego team where people enjoy working together.
Modern, paperless systems, so you spend more time on the work that matters.
A real pathway to grow into a confident, well-rounded property lawyer, with genuine ownership of your files.
$65,000 to $80,000 + super, depending on experience.
Fully remote, so you can work from anywhere in Queensland. We welcome applicants from the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, to the Gold Coast and beyond.
The possibility of a virtual assistant to support you with your matters as your file numbers grow.
Annual Christmas bonus and party.
Annual training and professional development to help you keep growing.
Immediate start available for the right person.
