We're looking for an experienced Leading Hand who enjoys getting on the tools, leading by example and helping build a strong team. This isn't a role where you'll be sitting behind a desk all day. You'll be working alongside the crew, mentoring apprentices, keeping jobs moving and making sure the work leaving our factory is something everyone can be proud of.

About the Role

Based at our Moorebank workshop, you'll be responsible for leading our fabrication team through a wide variety of projects including stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel, architectural fabrication, structural steel, custom projects and site installations.

No two weeks are the same, so we're looking for someone who enjoys variety and can think on their feet.

Your Responsibilities

Lead by example and work alongside the fabrication team.

Organise daily workflow to keep jobs progressing efficiently.

Mentor apprentices and less experienced tradespeople.

Ensure all work meets Mojo Steel's quality standards before leaving the workshop.

Read and interpret workshop drawings and identify issues before fabrication begins.

Carry out high-quality MIG and TIG welding across mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.

Coordinate workshop activities with management and communicate any delays or material requirements.

Promote a safe, organised and respectful workplace.

Conduct toolbox talks and ensure safe work practices are followed.

Assist with site installations when required.

Complete timesheets and job records accurately.

Help continually improve workshop efficiency and workmanship.

What We're Looking For

We're not just looking for someone with a trade certificate.

We're looking for someone who genuinely cares about producing quality work, enjoys helping others improve and wants to be part of building a business that has a reputation for doing things properly.

You'll ideally have:

Qualified Boilermaker/Fabricator Trade Certificate.

At least 5 years' experience in fabrication.

Previous Leading Hand or Supervisory experience (preferred).

Strong experience welding stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel.

Ability to read fabrication drawings without constant supervision.

High attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.

Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Strong problem-solving ability.

White Card.

Current Driver's Licence.

Forklift Licence (preferred but not essential).
