Our esteemed client, an established MNC, is searching for a Machinist (CNC Lathe / In-Situ Bench Grinding):

Job Responsibilities:

Operate CNC Vertical and Horizontal Lathe machines, as well as in-situ bench grinding equipment, to machine, grind, recondition, and polish components according to engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Set up and adjust machines, select suitable cutting tools, grinding wheels, and fixtures, and secure workpieces to ensure safe and accurate machining operations.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to determine machining methods, tooling requirements, and generate CNC programs (NC codes) where required.

Perform dimensional inspections and quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial gauges, calipers, and other measuring tools to ensure compliance with required tolerances and surface finish.

Inspect machined components and crankshafts for wear, cracks, or other defects, and carry out corrective machining or grinding work where necessary.

Troubleshoot machining and equipment issues, identify machine abnormalities, and report or recommend corrective actions to ensure minimal downtime.

Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, and basic servicing of CNC machines and grinding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Maintain proper documentation of completed jobs, machine maintenance records, inspection results, and operational issues.

Organize and maintain machining fixtures, tools, and work areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.

Plan and coordinate assigned machining activities to ensure work is completed within project timelines while maintaining quality standards.

Comply with workplace safety procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhere to OSHA and company safety regulations.

Perform other duties and projects assigned by the reporting manager.

Job Requirements:

NITEC, Higher NITEC, NTC, Technical Certification, or equivalent qualification in Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum 3 years of experience operating CNC Vertical and Horizontal Lathe machines in a machining or industrial workshop environment.

Experience in crankshaft grinding, bench grinding, or conventional machining will be an advantage.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and machining instructions.

Proficient in CNC machine setup, cutting tool applications, fixture preparation, and CNC programming (NC code generation).

Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other inspection equipment.

Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of crankshaft balancing, alignment procedures, and conventional machining will be an added advantage.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Safety-conscious with a professional attitude and strong commitment to quality workmanship.
