Are you an experienced plant operator who thrives in a fast-paced yard environment?
We're looking for a hands-on Yard Supervisor / Operator to take charge of daily operations at our depot, ensuring materials, equipment and crews are ready to deliver essential infrastructure projects across the Cairns region!
What You’ll Do:
You'll take the lead in keeping our depot running smoothly and safely, overseeing daily yard operations while operating loaders and other plant equipment. From coordinating deliveries, materials handling and stock control to supporting crews and contractors, you'll play a key role in ensuring works are delivered efficiently. You'll also promote a strong safety culture, maintain accurate records, monitor equipment and stock levels, and help create a well-organised, productive environment where teams can perform at their best.
What We’re Looking For:
Current C Class Drivers Licence
Current HR Licence, or ability to obtain
General Construction Induction White Card
Plant operator certification relevant to the plant being operated (Loader and/or Excavator as required)
Proven experience in yard, depot, civil construction or similar operations, including operating plant and machinery, while working effectively as part of the team
Experience in materials handling, stock control, or yard operations within a civil or construction environment
Experience in construction, quarrying, waste management, transport, or similar industries
Strong knowledge of workplace safety requirements
Excellent communication and organisational skills
