Goodwin is seeking a proactive and people-focused WHS Officer to support our Work Health, Safety and Environment (WHSE) Management System across residential aged care, retirement living, community care, allied health and corporate services.

Working closely with managers, employees and key stakeholders, you will help identify and manage risks, investigate incidents, support compliance and drive continuous improvement.

About the role

You will

  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits and safety observations across Goodwin sites.
  • Support hazard identification, risk assessments and effective controls.
  • Review and investigate incidents, identify contributing factors and monitor corrective actions.
  • Analyse WHS data and identify trends and emerging risks.
  • Support WHS committees, consultation and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Assist with WHS policies, procedures, audits, reporting and legislative compliance across ACT and NSW.
  • Deliver or coordinate WHS inductions, training and awareness initiatives.
  • Provide practical WHS advice to managers and employees.
  • Support key risk areas including manual handling, psychosocial hazards, occupational violence, hazardous chemicals and contractor management.

Desirable - Aged care experience, ionMy experience, psychosocial risk management experience and knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards.

You’ll also need

  • Current Class C Driver Licence.
  • National Police Check.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or ability to obtain.
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People Registration or equivalent, where required.
  • Ability to travel between Goodwin sites and undertake regular workplace inspections.
