Emerging IT is looking for an experienced Level 3 Service Desk Engineer with strong hands-on networking and infrastructure experience to join our Technical Support team.

This is a senior technical role supporting a dedicated enterprise environment, where you'll act as an escalation point for complex incidents across networking, Microsoft infrastructure, cloud and virtualisation.

We're looking for someone who can confidently troubleshoot beyond the desktop—someone who understands how enterprise networks operate, can diagnose complex connectivity and infrastructure issues, and is comfortable taking ownership through to resolution.

About the Role

As a Level 3 Engineer, you'll work across a broad enterprise technology environment while providing technical leadership and support to the wider Service Desk team.

You'll be responsible for:

Owning and resolving complex Level 3 infrastructure and networking incidents

Troubleshooting LAN/WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, wireless and connectivity issues

Supporting and troubleshooting Cisco, Meraki and Aruba network environments

Diagnosing firewall and network security issues across technologies such as Fortinet and Palo Alto

Supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory and Windows Server environments

Supporting VMware and Hyper-V virtualised environments

Performing root cause analysis and identifying long-term solutions to recurring issues

Working with vendors, internal technical teams and client stakeholders on complex incidents

Supporting infrastructure upgrades, network changes and project work

Mentoring Level 1 and Level 2 engineers and assisting with technical escalations

What We're Looking For

You'll be an experienced Level 3 engineer with a strong infrastructure background and genuine hands-on networking capability.

Ideally, you'll bring:

5+ years' experience within an MSP or complex enterprise IT environment

Demonstrated experience working at Level 3 or as a senior technical escalation point

Strong hands-on networking experience across Cisco, Meraki and/or Aruba

Solid knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN and VPN technologies

Experience troubleshooting firewalls and complex network connectivity issues

Strong Microsoft infrastructure experience across Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory and Windows Server

Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V

Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience mentoring junior engineers and sharing technical knowledge

Highly Regarded

Certifications aren't everything, but qualifications such as the following will be highly regarded:

CCNA or CCNP

Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104)

Fortinet or Palo Alto certifications

VMware VCP

ITIL Foundation
