The Mechanical Designer is responsible for the development, coordination, and preparation of

mechanical design deliverables for packaged equipment and systems.

The role supports project execution by producing high-quality designs, drawings, 3D models, material take-offs and technical documentation in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards, and schedule requirements.

The Mechanical Designer works closely with Package Design Engineers and other discipline

designers to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, assemblability, and aligned with

client requirements.

Mechanical Design & Drafting

 Develop and maintain mechanical designs for packaged equipment and associated systems.

 Produce detailed engineering deliverables, including:

o General Arrangement (GA) drawings

o Fabrication drawings

o Assembly drawings

o Installation drawings

o Mechanical detail drawings

 Create and maintain accurate 3D models of equipment and package assemblies.

 Ensure designs comply with project specifications, company standards, and relevant industry codes.

Project Delivery

 Deliver assigned design activities in accordance with project schedules and budgets.

 Support Package Design Engineers in the preparation and delivery of:

o Drawings

3D models

o Material Take-OƯs (MTOs)

o Technical documentation

 Assist with design changes and updates throughout the project lifecycle.

 Ensure all deliverables are issued in accordance with document control procedures.

Multidisciplinary Coordination

 Coordinate with:

o Piping Designers

o Structural Designers

o Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Designers

o PSA Team

o SSA Team

 Participate in model reviews and interdisciplinary design reviews.

 Identify and resolve design clashes and interface issues within the model and drawings.

Client, Supplier & Fabrication Support

 Support technical discussions with clients, suppliers, fabricators, and assemblers as required.

 Review supplier drawings and vendor documentation for integration into package designs.

 Incorporate approved vendor information into project models and deliverables.

 Respond to requests for information and design queries

Quality & Compliance

 Ensure all designs are completed accurately and meet project quality standards.

 Participate in internal design checks and reviews.

 Assist in maintaining design standards, templates, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Meetings & Communication

 Attend project scrums and design coordination meetings.

 Participate in client model reviews and project design reviews as required.

 Provide regular progress updates to the Package Design Engineer and Package Design Principal.

Key Skills & Competencies

 Strong mechanical design and drafting capabilities.

 Proficiency in 3D modelling and CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD Plant 3D, P3D, Advanced Steel, Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Navis Works, or equivalent).

 Understanding of package equipment design and fabrication requirements.

 Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and practices.

 Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

 Effective communication and teamwork skills.

 Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

 Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Drafting, or a related discipline.

 Experience in mechanical design within engineering, manufacturing, process, energy, or
EPC industries.

 Experience working with multidiscipline engineering teams.

 Familiarity with fabrication, assembly, and installation requirements.

 Experience with 3D modelling systems and engineering document management processes.
