About the role

Join Progress Rail in Port Augusta and play a key role in keeping Australia’s rail network moving. In this hands-on position, you’ll carry out maintenance, overhauls, and repairs on locomotives and associated equipment to the highest standards.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Performing maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on diesel/electric locomotives

Completing major overhauls and component rebuilds

Interpreting and applying technical drawings

Working collaboratively within a skilled and supportive team

Continuously learning and developing your technical capability

About you

Trade qualified (Mechanical or similar) OR 3rd/4th year apprentice

Experience in heavy maintenance (highly regarded)

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Motivation to grow your skills with ongoing training
