About the role

Superheat is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join our team in Moonah, Tasmania. This full-time role will involve providing accurate and competitive estimates for mechanical/HVAC projects to our clients in the construction industry.

What you'll be doing

Preparing detailed material and labour estimates for commercial mechanical projects, including air conditioning, ventilation, duct work, thermal plants and electrical works

Collaborating with project managers, designers and suppliers to gather information and develop comprehensive estimates

Reviewing plans, specifications, and scope of work to identify potential risks and opportunities

Continuously researching and updating material and labour costs to maintain accurate and competitive estimates

Providing support to the project team during the construction process

Identifying areas for process improvement and contributing to the development of estimating tools, software and templates

What we're looking for

Significant experience in commercial HVAC, ideally within the construction industry

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, BMS, and mechanical electrical

Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and mitigate risks

Attention to detail and and accuracy

Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Proficient in the use of general computer software
