About the Role
Clarity Partners is looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to join a global-scale gold producer with major operations across Western Australia and Alaska, focused on the organic growth of its high-quality assets, extending mine lives and maximising operational efficiencies.
Based in Kalgoorlie, this residential opportunity will see you working as part of an established Mine Planning team supporting underground operations. You will be responsible for developing practical mine designs, planning and scheduling activities that support safe and efficient production, while working closely with geology, survey, production and other technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop clear and practical mine designs and instructions for underground development and stoping activities.
- Prepare and maintain short- and medium-term mine plans and production schedules aligned with operational requirements.
- Work closely with Geology, Survey and Operations to ensure mine designs reflect current geological and operational information.
- Support the prioritisation and execution of underground development activities.
- Evaluate mining opportunities and identify areas for improved production, efficiency and mine performance.
- Contribute to budgets, forecasts, life-of-mine planning, reserves and capital projects as required.
- Provide technical planning support to Production and assist with the delivery of operational targets.
- Ensure mine plans and designs comply with relevant safety, technical and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Mine Planning function.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in underground mining, ideally within a mechanised hard-rock environment.
- Demonstrated experience in mine planning, design and production scheduling.
- Strong working knowledge of Deswik CAD and Deswik IS or similar mine planning software.
- Sound understanding of underground mining methods, production planning and mine design principles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Ability to work a residential 8/6 roster in Kalgoorlie.
