Professional Nanny & Family Support

Perth, Tasmania | Approx. 38 Hours Per Week

Ohana Care Australia is looking for an experienced, caring and highly adaptable Professional Nanny to support a busy family based in Perth, Tasmania.

We are looking for someone pretty special for this role, someone who genuinely loves working with children, understands the dynamics of working within a family home, and has the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents.

This is a hands-on role. No two days will necessarily look exactly the same, so we are looking for someone who can confidently go with the flow, take initiative and become a reliable and trusted part of the family's everyday life.

The Roster

The regular roster is:

Monday | 8:00am–5:00pm
Tuesday | 8:00am–6:00pm
Thursday | 8:00am–6:00pm
Friday | 8:00am–5:00pm

The role will initially be offered on a casual basis, with the opportunity to transition to part-time employment for the right candidate.

Consistency is really important to both Ohana and the family, so we are looking for someone who can commit to the ongoing roster and is interested in building a longer-term relationship with the family.

What the Role Looks Like

This family are busy bees! Their weeks involve school, activities, appointments, home life and plenty of adventures, so this role will suit someone who enjoys being active, involved and adaptable.

Your responsibilities may include:

Providing hands-on care and supervision for the children

Building positive, trusting and age-appropriate relationships with the children

Supporting morning, afternoon and daily routines

School and activity drop-offs and pick-ups

Transporting children to appointments, activities and outings

Planning and participating in age-appropriate activities

Preparing meals and snacks

General household duties and tidying

Laundry and organisation of children's belongings

Family-related errands and household organisation

Helping keep the household running smoothly throughout the week

Working alongside the parents to provide consistency and support within their family routine

The family also love to travel, so the ability and willingness to travel with them when required is an important part of this position.

Who We're Looking For

We are specifically looking for someone with previous nannying experience who can demonstrate a high level of ability in caring for children, adapting to the changing needs of a busy family and developing strong interpersonal relationships.

The right person will be:

Experienced and confident in a professional nannying role

Warm, nurturing and genuinely passionate about working with children

Able to build strong, genuine and trusting relationships with children and families

Reliable, consistent and committed to an ongoing roster

Proactive and able to recognise what needs doing without always needing direction

Organised and capable of balancing hands-on childcare with household responsibilities

A confident communicator who can work collaboratively with parents

Comfortable driving and transporting children

Willing and able to travel with the family when required

Professional and respectful of the trust, privacy and boundaries that come with working within someone's home

Above all, we are looking for someone who understands that professional nannying is about much more than simply supervising children. It's about connection, consistency, trust and becoming a safe and reliable person in a child's world.

What You'll Need

To work with Ohana Care Australia, successful applicants will need to hold or obtain the following:

Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration

National Police Check completed within the previous 6 months

Current First Aid Certificate

Current CPR Certificate

Current driver's licence

Reliable access to a suitable vehicle for work-related transport

Appropriate vehicle insurance for transporting children as required

As this position involves regular transport of children, applicants must be confident and safe drivers.
