Thomas Foods International Feedlot is a key operation in growing, supplying, and distributing premium meat to the world and forms part of the agricultural division of Thomas Foods International, one of Australia’s largest family-owned businesses since 1988.

The Feedlot with a 27,000 standard cattle unit capacity is located in Tintinara, South Australia, and is a key partner of the new Murray Bridge Processing Plant.

With the Feedlot currently undergoing a significant expansion to 38,000 SCU, this is an exciting time to join the business. About the role

The role offers a diverse range of hands-on responsibilities, providing the opportunity for the Maintenance Technician to work across a variety of areas including fabrication, mechanical maintenance, project development, earthworks and construction.

As an integral member of the feedlot team, the Maintenance Technician will play a key role in ensuring the reliable operation and upkeep of site infrastructure, plant and machinery. This position will suit a self-motivated and adaptable individual who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a fast-paced, supportive and team-oriented environment.

The main duties of the role include:

Ensuring the continual operation of all plant and machinery

Conduct varied works across all site plant, machinery and facilities

Execute and refine preventive maintenance program

Assist Maintenance Manager to plan and complete new projects

Preferred skills and experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a related role

Strong communication skills and an ability to problem solve

Metal fabrication experience

Sound mechanical skills

Knowledge of WHS and QA systems.
