Senior Solution Architect - Data & Infrastructure
12x month contract

We're partnering with a major public sector organisation seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join a large scale Delivery Enablement Program.

This role will lead the architecture and delivery strategy for a new Integrated Data Archive Solution, spanning enterprise storage infrastructure, data services, application integration, security, and complex data migration activities.

Working across business and technology teams, you'll collaborate with Enterprise and Security Architects, PMO leaders, Business Analysts, stakeholders, and technology vendors to design secure, scalable, and operationally ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and governance of Solution Architecture Descriptions (SADs), including conceptual, physical, and security architectures.
• Design solution integrations across infrastructure, networking, security, applications, data services, and operational platforms.
• Drive architecture governance through stakeholder engagement and Architecture Review Group (ARG) approvals.
• Produce architecture documentation covering integrations, deployment models, risks, dependencies, and operational readiness.
• Provide architectural guidance to delivery teams and vendors, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and technology frameworks.
• Develop and maintain as-built documentation to support operational transition and long-term supportability.
• Act as the primary architecture contact across assigned projects and workstreams.

About You

• 10+ years' experience as a Solution Architect within complex enterprise or government environments.
• Demonstrated experience delivering data archive, storage, or large-scale data management solutions.
• Strong knowledge across infrastructure, networking, security, applications, and operations.
• Experience designing secure solutions aligned to government security frameworks, including ISM.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and business audiences.
• Ability to obtain or hold a Baseline Security Clearance.

Desirable

• TOGAF certification or equivalent architecture framework experience.
• Background in systems administration.
• Experience with Jira, GitLab, SharePoint, and modern delivery environments.
