Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to take your clinical expertise into the medicolegal space?

Humanity Health Group is seeking experienced Occupational Therapists to join our team as Medicolegal Contractors, completing Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs), preparing comprehensive medicolegal reports and providing expert clinical opinions.

This is an exciting opportunity for an OT who enjoys complex assessments, has strong report-writing skills and is confident and willing to appear in court and provide expert evidence when required.

About the Role

As a Medicolegal OT Contractor, you will:

Complete Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs) for medicolegal matters

Prepare high-quality, objective and evidence-based medicolegal reports

Assess functional capacity, activities of daily living, participation and support requirements

Provide independent clinical opinions based on assessment findings and available evidence

Liaise with solicitors, insurers and other relevant stakeholders

Attend conferences and mediations where required

Appear in court and provide expert evidence

Manage your own caseload with flexibility around your availability

About You

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with:

Current AHPRA registration

Strong clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist

Experience completing FCAs

Excellent written communication and report-writing skills

Strong clinical reasoning and attention to detail

An interest in or experience within medicolegal / forensic assessment

Confidence communicating with legal professionals

Willingness to provide expert evidence and appear in court

The ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines

Previous medicolegal experience is highly desirable. However, we are also interested in experienced OTs with strong FCA and report-writing experience who are looking to transition into medicolegal work.
