About the Role

We are seeking experienced Industrial Painters to join large-scale projects at the Port of Brisbane. Multiple long-term positions are available across new construction, plant upgrades and maintenance projects within heavy industrial environments. These positions will initially commence on a temporary contract, with opportunities to transition into permanent full-time employment within approximately four months.

Job Details

• Pay Rate: $58.93/hr + overtime, penalties and applicable allowances
• Shifts: 6:00am or 6:30am starts, Monday to Friday
• Overtime: Regular overtime opportunities available
• Projects: Construction, upgrades and maintenance of industrial facilities
• Employment: Long-term contracts with permanent opportunities
• Location: Port of Brisbane

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare steel, pipework, equipment and structures for protective coatings
• Complete industrial painting and coating applications to specification
• Perform surface preparation including blasting, sanding and mechanical prep
• Apply primers, protective coatings and industrial paint systems
• Inspect completed work to ensure coating thickness and quality requirements
• Follow site safety, environmental and quality procedures at all times

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as an Industrial Painter in heavy industry
• Experience with industrial coatings and surface preparation techniques
• Ability to work safely around operating plants and construction activities
• Strong understanding of coating specifications and quality requirements
• Experience working on large-scale industrial, maintenance or construction sites
• Must have: Current Driver's Licence, Working at Heights, Confined Space and White Card

Highly Regarded

• Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application
• High Risk Work or EWP licence
• Previous oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, water or heavy industrial experience
• Abrasive blasting experience
• Experience applying protective coatings to structural steel, tanks and pipework
