Specialist GP, Chronic Disease and Health Promotion

The Know You Co is a specialist general practice focused on chronic disease management, health promotion, slow medicine and complex care.

Everything about the clinic has been intentionally designed to support deeper, more meaningful medicine. Long appointments are standard here, typically 30 to 60 minutes, and doctors generally see eight to twelve patients a day instead of thirty or forty. Because of this, the clinic runs on time, workloads are sustainable and doctors have the space to think and practice complex medicine properly. The environment is warm, calm, beautifully designed and intentionally unlike a traditional medical clinic.

The Know You Co was created in response to what was happening to so many great GPs.

Across Australia, doctors interested in chronic disease, prevention, complex medicine and relationship-based care were being forced into increasingly unsustainable ways of working. Fifteen-minute appointments became double bookings, then triple bookings. Days became reactive, rushed and transactional. Doctors skipped breaks, ran hours behind and carried administrative work late into the night, while trying to manage increasingly complex patients inside systems that were never designed for depth of care.

Eventually, enough was enough.

So we stepped back and redesigned the entire experience of general practice from the ground up, from the business model and appointment structures to workflows, technology, communication systems and physical space.

Our belief was simple:

If medicine became sustainable for doctors again, better care would naturally follow for patients.

That philosophy extends to how we value our doctors' time. We have adopted an equal pay for equal work model, with consultation fees standardised across all appointment lengths because we believe one hour of a doctor's time should be valued equally, whether it's spent caring for one patient or two.

Two years later, The Know You Co has grown to four doctors, proving the demand for a different kind of general practice, and we are now looking for the right GP to join our team.

About You

You are:

FRACGP or equivalent.

Fully registered with AHPRA and Australian working rights.

Interested in chronic disease management, health promotion and relationship-based care.

Looking for a more sustainable and human way to practise medicine.

We also welcome conversations with doctors who have stepped away from general practice into policy, defence, medical advisory or other non-clinical pathways and are considering returning to patient care.
