The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to step into a broad and influential leadership role within a values-led, community-focused organisation making a genuine difference across the region.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Support Services Manager will lead the organisation’s key corporate and support functions.

You’ll lead a capable team of technical specialists (3 direct reports) while working closely with the CEO, broader leadership team and Board to strengthen organisational performance, governance and sustainability.

This isn’t about sitting behind a desk managing corporate functions in isolation.

You’ll be a visible and collaborative leader who understands what the organisation is trying to achieve and ensures its people, systems and processes are working together to support it.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your role will be broad, varied and organisation-wide, including:

  • Partnering with the CEO on organisational strategy, performance, governance and emerging risks.
  • Leading and developing managers across Finance, Human Resources and Marketing & Communications.
  • Providing oversight of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow, controls and organisational sustainability.
  • Strengthening workforce planning, employee relations, performance, capability and organisational culture.
  • Overseeing quality, compliance, enterprise risk and Work Health & Safety frameworks.
  • Ensuring the organisation remains responsive to regulatory, contractual, funding and accreditation requirements.
  • Supporting effective Board and executive reporting, providing clear analysis, advice and recommendations.
  • Driving practical improvements to systems, processes, reporting and organisational efficiency.
  • Building stronger collaboration between corporate support functions and operational/service delivery teams.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced leader who leads with trust, transparency and respect. You can operate comfortably across multiple functions without needing to be the technical expert in every room.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce or Business
  • Senior leadership experience across multiple operational or support service functions
  • Strong commercial and financial capability, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial governance
  • Experience providing advice directly to a CEO, ELT and Board
  • Sound understanding of HR, workforce governance and complex employee matters
  • Exposure to quality, risk, compliance and WHS frameworks
  • Experience leading organisational change, systems improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
  • A genuine ability to coach, develop and empower people
  • Sound judgement working with sensitive and confidential matters
  • The ability to build trusted relationships across an organisation and communicate complex information simply.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience within the not-for-profit, community services, health, disability, aged care or human services sectors
  • Experience within a government-funded or regulated environment – knowledge of accounting & financial practices (acquittals, compliance)

Why This Role?

If you’re looking for a senior leadership opportunity where your commercial capability can contribute to something with genuine purpose, we’d love to hear from you.
