Position Title: Mission Doctor

Appointment Type: Casual (Intermittent), Pro-Rated Salary Based on Hours Worked

About the Role

The U.S. Mission is seeking a compassionate and highly qualified physician to serve as our Mission Doctor. In this vital role, you will provide primary, urgent, and emergency outpatient medical care to American employees and their families, ensuring the health and well-being of our Mission community.

In addition to direct patient care, you will provide emergency response and occupational health services to all Mission employees, helping to maintain a safe and healthy workplace for our entire team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide primary care consultations and treatment for American employees and eligible family members

Deliver urgent and emergency outpatient medical care as needed

Respond to medical emergencies affecting any Mission employee

Administer occupational health services, including health screenings and workplace safety assessments

Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records

Coordinate referrals to local specialists or medical facilities when appropriate

Advise Mission leadership on health-related matters affecting the workplace

Skills and Experience

Three (3) years of clinical experience post graduate training in primary care (Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, or Internal Medicine) is required.

Experience providing direct patient care is required.

Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School and completion of appropriate post-graduate internship/residency or fellowship is required.

Must possess and maintain a current valid and unrestricted license in Australia to practice medicine.

Fluent knowledge of English in Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.

Appointment Details

This is a casual appointment, offering flexibility for both the Mission and the successful candidate. Salary will be pro-rated based on actual hours worked, providing a scalable compensation structure suited to variable scheduling needs.
