Part-Time Retail Nursery All-Rounders

Do you enjoy helping customers, working outdoors and being part of a hands-on, supportive team?

Ellenby Tree Farm is seeking several part-time Retail & Nursery All-Rounders for our Gnangara Display Nursery. These varied roles combine retail sales and customer service with hands-on nursery work.

You will be involved in assisting customers to select suitable trees, responding to enquiries and supporting sales processes, as well as helping maintain displays, caring for stock and contributing to a safe, clean and well-presented nursery environment.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

Nursery and outdoor work

Caring for trees and assisting with general nursery tasks

Watering, weeding, tidying and maintaining nursery presentation

Assisting with stock movements and display changes

Undertaking basic grounds maintenance, which may include mowing and whipper-snipping

Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe

Supporting other team members during busy periods

Customer service and retail sales

Welcoming and directing customers

Helping them to select suitable trees

Responding professionally to customer enquiries

Providing clear and helpful advice.

Processing quotes and orders.

This is an active role involving outdoor work and time on your feet in varying weather conditions.

About you

Are comfortable balancing customer service with physical nursery tasks

Remain calm and helpful during busy periods

Work well independently and as part of a team

Are willing to learn about trees and their uses

Can adapt as priorities change throughout the day

Essential requirements

You do not need to be a tree expert. What you do need is a keen interest in plants, gardening and the environment. With hands-on experience and resources, you will learn what is needed.

The physical capacity to undertake active outdoor nursery work

Availability to work 3–4 days per week, including rostered Saturdays

Previous customer service, retail or sales experience

Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Teams.

A current Australian driver’s licence

Reliable transport, as public transport to the nursery is limited

The right to work in Australia

Desirable, but not essential

Nursery, horticulture, landscaping or garden-centre experience

A horticultural qualification

Experience preparing quotes or processing sales orders

Knowledge of trees, gained through work or personal interest.

Hours and location

Part-time: 3–4 days per week

Occasional additional shifts to cover leave and peak periods.

Weekday hours: 7.00 am–3.00 pm

Saturday hours: 9.00 am–3.00 pm

Rostered Saturday work is required

Based predominantly at our Gnangara Display Nursery

Multiple part positions are available
