About the role
Prestige Homes and Granny Flats is seeking a Qualified Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading new home and granny flat builder in the Rockingham region. Based in Port Kennedy, WA, you will be integral to delivering high-quality carpentry work across our diverse project portfolio. What you'll be doing
As a Qualified Carpenter, your key responsibilities will include:
Executing carpentry work on new build projects and construction with precision and professionalism
Reading and interpreting architectural plans, blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate project delivery
Measuring, cutting and shaping timber and other materials to specified dimensions
Installing structural components including framing, joinery, cabinetry and custom timber work and steel frame
Fitting and installing doors, windows, and other carpentry fixtures
Liaising with project managers, other tradespeople and clients to ensure seamless project coordination
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Conducting quality inspections of your own work and addressing any issues promptly
Using hand and power tools safely and efficiently
What we're looking for
Current carpentry qualification or equivalent recognised trade certification
Proven experience as a qualified carpenter, ideally with 3+ years in the residential construction
Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural plans and technical drawings
Experience in framing, joinery, cabinetry and general carpentry work
Solid knowledge of building codes, safety standards and industry best practices
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
Proficiency with both hand tools and modern power tools
Physical fitness and ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and in varying weather conditions
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
A valid driver's licence and reliable transport to site locations
Current First Aid certificate is desirable
Experience with granny flat or secondary dwelling construction is a plus
