Old Young's Distillery
Posted 1 day ago
Old Young’s is looking for an energetic full-time Business Development Manager to grow and service our existing customer base, reactivate past customers and develop new business across WA’s independent bottle shops, bars and restaurants.
You’ll inherit an established customer base and CRM, along with a steady stream of opportunities generated through our trade relationships, customers and shareholder network.
Since May 2016, Old Young’s has been distilling quality spirits and delivering premium experiences in WA’s historic Swan Valley. We have grown, evolved and continue to win global acclaim not just for our spirits, but also for the creativity we show in every aspect of the business (Australian Champion Distiller 2017 & 2018, World Craft Producer & Brand Innovator of the Year 2023, World’s Best Gin 2026).
We are looking for a special human who wants to join a great team and stick around for the long term as we build on 10 years of quality spirits production.
We’ll want you to geek out and learn all about how, and importantly why, we do what we do! You’ll be a passionate self-starter, happy to go above and beyond to make sure our customers are thoroughly engaged with the brand, but first and foremost you’ll be a salesperson - someone who enjoys building relationships, opening doors and closing sales.
This is predominantly an on-the-road sales role. Bottle shop tastings, bar trainings and activations are part of the job, but they’re there to support sales and strengthen customer relationships - this isn’t a Brand Ambassador role with some sales thrown in.
You’ll need to be comfortable managing your own week, maintaining momentum across your accounts and using our CRM to track activity, opportunities and results. We’re not interested in reporting for reporting’s sake - we do want someone who knows what they’ve done, what’s working and where they need help.
Attention to detail is a must and good time management skills are necessary to get the most out of your hours. You’ll need a current RSA and a reliable motor vehicle. An annual car allowance is provided.
Proven sales experience is important, and experience selling wine, beer, spirits or other FMCG products into the WA liquor and hospitality trade would be a significant advantage. Experience working with national retailers, wholesalers or other key accounts would be a bonus, although these accounts are currently managed by the CEO.
The role kicks off immediately, so send us your resume now and add a cover letter telling us why we need you on our team. Feel free to throw in a little story about yourself as well - share something that will intrigue us.
Make us hire you!
