About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Credit Analyst to join our growing mortgage broking team.
This role suits someone who loves solving complex lending scenarios, understands lender policy inside out, and takes pride in getting the structure right before an application reaches the lender.
You won’t simply process applications.
You’ll take ownership of the credit analysis and loan structuring behind each deal, working closely with our brokers to deliver strong outcomes for clients.
The Role
As our Senior Credit Analyst, you’ll be responsible for assessing, structuring and preparing residential lending applications from initial strategy through to submission.
Your responsibilities will include:
Analyse complex residential lending scenarios
Complete servicing assessments across multiple lenders
Research and interpret lender credit policies
Recommend suitable lender and product options to brokers
Structure purchases, refinances, equity releases and investment lending
Review PAYG, self-employed, company and trust income
Analyse tax returns, financial statements and supporting financial information
Review existing loan structures and property portfolios
Identify credit and policy risks before submission
Prepare clear credit notes and application strategies
Package high-quality applications for submission
Work with lender BDMs and credit teams on complex scenarios
Review applications for accuracy, compliance and credit quality
Manage approval conditions and credit-related queries
Support and mentor junior team members
Help improve our internal credit processes and systems
What We’re Looking For
You’ll have strong experience in Australian residential lending, either within mortgage broking or banking.
You should be comfortable receiving a client file and independently working through:
Client position → Borrowing capacity → Credit policy → Loan structure → Lender selection → Application strategy
We’re looking for someone with:
Strong residential lending experience
Excellent knowledge of Australian lender policies
Advanced servicing and borrowing capacity skills
Experience with complex investment lending
Strong understanding of self-employed borrowers
Experience reviewing company and trust structures
Strong attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication
Strong problem-solving skills
Confidence dealing directly with lenders, BDMs and credit teams
High personal accountability
The ability to manage multiple files without sacrificing quality
Experience with Mercury Nexus and ApplyOnline would be highly regarded.
Certificate IV or Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking would also be highly regarded.
What Success Looks Like
You identify problems before the lender does.
Applications are structured correctly before submission.
Brokers trust your credit judgement.
Files move through assessment with fewer avoidable conditions and delays.
Clients receive a smooth experience.
And our brokers spend more of their time advising clients and growing relationships instead of researching policy and rebuilding applications.
Why Join Us?
We’re building a mortgage broking business focused on delivering a high standard of advice and creating long-term client relationships.
You’ll work closely with experienced brokers and have genuine ownership of the credit function.
There is room to grow with the business, take on greater responsibility and help shape how our credit team operates.
If you’re an experienced credit professional who enjoys solving lending problems and wants more ownership than a traditional processing role, we’d like to hear from you.
