Social Media Coordinator
Hop To It Collective Pty Ltd
Posted 3 days ago
Most social media jobs hand you one brand and a content calendar. This one hands you a portfolio: clubs, pubs, hotels, RSLs, a couple of bars and a few technology brands, all with different audiences and none of them boring.
Hop To It Collective is a marketing and creative agency based in Brisbane. We work with community clubs, leagues clubs, hotels, bars, restaurants, and RSLs across Queensland, along with clients in the technology space. We're looking for a Social Media Coordinator to join our Creative team.
About the role
You'll sit in our Creative department, reporting to the Head of Creative and working day to day with our Customer Success Manager (Creative).
Two of the venues in our portfolio are owned by our Managing Director, and their social accounts would be yours to run outright. You'd plan the content, get in there and shoot it, edit it, post it, handle the comments and report back on how it performed. Full ownership, your call on direction, within the brand and the plan.
Across the rest of the portfolio, you're the one making sure everything approved goes out properly and on time, and you've got a real voice in what we're posting. Some weeks that's a Friday night raffle for a leagues club. Others it's working out how to make a tech product sound interesting to people who don't work in tech. Different voices, different audiences, same job: make it good. If you've spotted a format that's working or you've got an idea nobody's tried, bring it to planning. We'd rather argue about a good idea than sit through another calendar review.
What you'll be doing
Owning social for two venues:
Run the social media function end to end across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
Build a monthly content calendar for each venue around what's actually happening on the floor, signed off by the Head of Creative
Get on site regularly to shoot food, drinks, events, entertainment and the team
Make and edit Reels, TikToks, Stories and static graphics in Canva, CapCut or similar
Handle comments, DMs and story replies in each venue's voice, and flag anything that needs escalating
Report monthly on reach, engagement, what worked and what you'd change
Publishing and strategy across the client portfolio:
Schedule and publish all approved content for the Creative department's clients, formatted properly for each platform
Contribute to social strategy alongside the CSM (Creative) and Head of Creative
Produce and schedule content for hospitality and technology clients across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and wherever else makes sense
Write captions that suit each brand, from a pub's Sunday session to a software launch
Help pull together monthly performance snapshots from platform analytics
On site:
Head out to client venues for content capture sessions
Support photo and video shoot days with the CSM (Creative), including logistics, shot lists and sorting the files afterwards
Keep the asset library tidy so nobody has to hunt for anything
Community management and creative support:
Monitor assigned client channels during agreed hours and reply within brand guidelines
Escalate complaints, bad reviews or anything sensitive to the CSM (Creative)
Basic Canva support for social tiles, story graphics and simple promo assets
Keep your work in Monday.com. If it's not in Monday.com, it didn't happen
About you
You're the person whose camera roll is mostly food, gig lighting and half-finished video ideas. You'd rather be trusted with an account than handed a list of posts. And you can tell the difference between a trend worth jumping on and one that'll age badly by Thursday.
What we're after:
1 to 3 years in social media coordination, content creation, digital marketing or similar
You've run Meta and TikTok accounts yourself, from planning through to posting, community management and reporting
Solid working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, including the basic analytics
You can shoot and edit short-form video and build static graphics in Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express or similar
Comfortable shooting on site with a phone or basic camera gear, with a decent eye for framing and light
Good writer who can switch voice between brands without losing the plot
Organised enough to juggle several accounts and calendars at once
Familiar with a scheduling tool like Social Pilot, Later or Hootsuite
Comfortable in a project management platform (ours is Monday.com)
Nice to have:
Qualifications in marketing, communications, media or digital content. Not essential if the work speaks for itself
Experience or genuine interest in hospitality, bars, dining or entertainment. This one counts for a lot
Curiosity about tech brands and how to make them sound human
Role details

Full time or part time equivalent, so tell us what suits you

Why work with us
Two venue accounts that are yours to run, not just post for
Genuine range: clubs, pubs, hotels, bars, nightlife and technology
Your ideas get used. That's the whole reason we're hiring
A small team that knows hospitality inside out and doesn't do things by committee
Flexible on hours for the right person
If you're already thinking about the content you'd make for a busy venue on a Saturday night, we'd like to see your work.
