We are seeking an experienced Wills & Estates Lawyer (5+ years PQE) to join our firm in a part-time capacity (1–2 days per week).
This is an excellent opportunity for a practitioner seeking flexibility and genuine work-life balance, while continuing to engage in high-quality legal work within a supportive and professional team environment.
The role is suited to a confident and capable lawyer who can work autonomously, managing matters end-to-end with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Taking full client instructions for estate planning matters
Providing clear, practical and commercially sound estate planning advice
Drafting and settling a range of estate planning documents, including:
Simple and non-standard Wills
Testamentary trust Wills
Wills incorporating life interests and rights to occupy
Enduring Powers of Attorney and related documents
Advising on:
Estate planning principles and structuring
Tax implications (including CGT considerations in estate planning)
Superannuation and its interaction with estate planning
Managing matters independently from initial enquiry through to execution
Maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring a high standard of client service
Proactively following up leads and client enquiries and confirming instructions accurately
Working collaboratively within a team environment
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Minimum 5 years PQE in Wills & Estates practice
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
Strong technical expertise in:
Estate planning
Testamentary trust structures
Superannuation death benefits and estate integration
Tax considerations in estate planning
Advanced drafting skills across both standard and complex estate planning documents
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately capture client instructions
A proactive approach to client management and file progression
Excellent organisational and time management skills
A positive attitude and a genuine enjoyment of working within a team
