Randstad is currently working with a public Sector client to find a Data Engineer / SQL Developer on a short term contract until Nov 2026. This role is based in Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast.

Primary purpose of the role: Enhance the data-driven decision-making capabilities via the Enterprise Data Management Platform by building scalable enterprise data pipelines, extracting/transforming data, and managing complex SQL views.

Key Tech Stack: Advanced SQL, Microsoft Azure (Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Azure Storage), PySpark notebooks, and Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, version control).

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise data pipelines to process and store data from diverse sources.

Develop complex data views tailored to business requirements while ensuring strict data integrity, security, and governance.

Collaborate closely with data analysts and BI professionals to transform and deliver accessible, high-quality data.

Utilize Azure cloud services, Azure DevOps, and PySpark notebooks to implement version control, CI/CD pipelines, and analytics workflows.

• Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data across both cloud and on-premise environments.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Expertise in advanced SQL development for data extraction, manipulation, and pipeline optimization.

Proven experience with Microsoft Cloud platforms, including Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Azure Storage, and Azure SQL.

Strong proficiency with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control best practices.

Strong analytical problem-solving and time-management skills to solve complex problems and balance competing priorities.
