About the role

We are seeking a Qualified Painter & Decorator to join the team at Pro Apply Painting & Decorating Pty Ltd. This is a full-time position with work based throughout Queensland, namely Brisbane - Gold Coast. As a Qualified Painter & Decorator, you will be at the heart of our operations, delivering high-quality painting and decorating services to our valued clients across residential and commercial projects. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and attention to detail, and you will play a crucial part in transforming spaces and exceeding client expectations.

What you'll be doing

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling and priming walls, ceilings, woodwork and other substrates to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality

Apply paint, stain, varnish and other protective coatings using brushes, rollers, spray equipment and other professional tools with precision and care

Execute decorative finishes including feature walls, texturing, faux finishes and specialty techniques as specified by clients

Measure, cut and hang wallpaper, vinyl and other wall coverings with accuracy and craftsmanship

Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean, safe and organised manner, following all health and safety regulations and best practices

Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors and team members to understand project requirements and ensure satisfaction

Conduct quality inspections of completed work and address any touch-ups or adjustments needed

Manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines whilst maintaining exceptional workmanship standards

What we're looking for

Current painting and decorating qualification or trade certification, recognised within Queensland

Proven experience working as a painter and decorator in residential and/or commercial settings

Proficiency with a range of painting and decorating tools and equipment, including spray systems, brushes, rollers and wallpapering tools

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes

Ability to read and interpret specifications, technical drawings and colour charts accurately

Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and paint application best practices

Physical fitness and ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and in various environmental conditions

Excellent customer service skills and professional communication abilities

Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic

Current manual driving licence and reliable transport

Preferred experience includes:

Experience with commercial and industrial painting projects

Knowledge of health and safety compliance and safe work practices in the painting industry

Familiarity with project management and time scheduling
