As a Residential Care Worker, you’ll support young people to build everyday skills, strengthen relationships and navigate day-to-day challenges in a residential setting. You’ll be backed by consistent training, practical tools, and local leadership support, so you can focus on delivering reliable, high-quality care.

Using therapeutic approaches including The Sanctuary Model and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), you’ll help create safe and supportive environments while making a meaningful impact every day.

Locations Include: Wishart, Mount Gravatt & Wynnum

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide consistent day-to-day care in a supportive home setting
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that offer stability and encouragement
  • Support daily routines, schooling, appointments and recreational activities
  • Assist young people to build independence and everyday living skills
  • Confidently respond to challenging behaviours using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
  • Follow tailored care plans that reflect each young person’s goals
  • Maintain clear, professional documentation

What You’ll Need

  • Previous Residential Care Work experience is highly regarded; experience supporting individuals with complex behaviours is essential
  • Current driver’s licence (minimum P2)
  • Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain)
  • Flexible availability, including sleepover shifts
  • Completed or willingness to enrol in a Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, Social Work or related field
