Leightons 4x4 is a locally owned and operated business with a proud history dating back nearly 60 years. From humble beginnings we have grown into one of Tasmania’s most trusted names in 4WD accessories, vehicle builds, fleet fit-outs and suspension solutions.

With continued growth across our retail, workshop and commercial operations, we are now seeking an experienced and motivated Store Manager to lead our Launceston team and help take the business into its next exciting chapter.

About the Role

As Store Manager, you will be responsible for the successful day-to-day operation of Leightons 4x4, leading our sales and workshop teams while driving business performance.

Your role will include:

Team Leadership & Culture

Lead, coach and motivate a team of sales and workshop professionals

Create a positive, accountable and supportive workplace culture

Manage staff performance, training, development and communication

Ensure team members are engaged, informed and working safely

Customer Experience

Ensure every customer receives exceptional service from enquiry through to completion

Build strong relationships with customers, trade clients and fleet partners

Manage customer concerns professionally and efficiently

Maintain the high level of product knowledge and advice our business is known for

Sales & Business Growth

Drive sales growth and achieve key business targets

Identify opportunities to increase retail, fleet and commercial sales

Develop strong relationships with key customers and business partners

Support promotions, events, sponsorships and marketing initiatives

Monitor sales performance, margins and business results

Stock & Operations Management

Oversee inventory management, ordering, stock control and supplier relationships

Ensure showroom and warehouse areas are presented to a high standard

Improve processes and efficiencies across the business

Ensure workplace health and safety standards are maintained

Workshop Coordination

Work closely with workshop staff to manage workflow and customer expectations

Ensure quality control across all fitted products and vehicle builds

Support efficient scheduling and communication between customers and technicians

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has proven experience in a leadership, management or senior sales role

Is passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences

Can motivate and develop a team to achieve great results

Has strong commercial awareness and understands sales performance

Is organised, proactive and enjoys improving processes

Communicates confidently with customers, staff and suppliers

Has a genuine interest in vehicles, 4WD, camping, touring or automotive accessories (highly regarded)
