Management Accountant

Hays are partnering with a growing organisation operating within the energy and infrastructure sector. Renowned for delivering complex projects across development, engineering, construction and maintenance services, this business plays a key role in supporting Australia's evolving energy landscape.
Due to a period of transition, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join the team on a short-term contract. This position will provide end-to-end finance support while the organisation undertakes a permanent recruitment process.

Your new role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership across a broad range of finance functions, including:

• Month-end accounting, management reporting and financial analysis
• Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
• Business partnering with operational stakeholders
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable oversight
• End-to-end payroll processing and payroll support
• Balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
• Process improvement initiatives and ad hoc project work
• Assisting with audit preparation and statutory compliance requirements

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or Senior Accountant position
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting and analysis
• Hands-on experience across AP, AR and payroll functions
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
• Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA) or working towards
