Mechanical Fitter – Heavy Industrial | Afternoon Shift
$63–$64 per hour + penalties | 10–12 Hour Shifts | Long-Term Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a large and well-established recycling operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for consistent hours, strong earning potential and long-term work in a heavy industrial environment.
The Role
Working within a large-scale recycling facility, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and servicing of heavy industrial plant and machinery.
Key responsibilities include:
Preventative and breakdown maintenance
Mechanical repairs and fault finding
Servicing conveyors, crushers, compactors and other heavy industrial equipment
Planned maintenance and shutdown work
Welding and fabrication as required
Identifying and rectifying mechanical issues
Working safely in a heavy industrial environment
Completing maintenance records and following site procedures
What We’re Looking For
Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter
Previous experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, recycling, mining or similar environments
Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
Experience working with heavy machinery and conveyors highly regarded
Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
Strong commitment to safety
Reliable and punctual
Comfortable working 10–12 hour shifts
