About the role

Edge2020 is looking for an Energy Consultant (or Senior Energy Consultant) to join our team and play a leading role in delivering energy products and services. This is a rare opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio exceeding 10TWh annually, helping some of Australia's largest energy users navigate the evolving energy landscape. Edge2020 interacts with a wide range of energy industry participants, from generators, wholesale brokers and traders, developers, retailers, and other specialist services providers, to ensure optimal outcomes for clients. Products and services include physical and financial products and services across electricity, gas and environmental markets. This role will directly influence decision-making of some of Australia's biggest energy participants and will provide fast-paced opportunity for broad skill, experience and professional network development.

Key responsibilities

Analyse data, keep abreast of market developments and research relevant topics to inform services and clients

Run tenders and negotiate contracts on client's behalf

Attend regular meetings with clients and proactively provide advice

Proactively develop and maintain relationships with clients and key industry stakeholders

Support the Head of Trading and Analytics to maximise quantity and diversification of clients and secure new business

About you

1-4 years of experience in the Australian east coast electricity markets (NEM)

Curiosity, drive, passion about energy, enthusiasm for a diverse role in a dynamic environment to deliver commercial outcomes

Analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail

Excellent written, presentation and interpersonal skills

Understanding of electricity retail to large customers (e.g.: pricing, network tariffs, products, metering, tendering process) – desirable

Understanding of energy industry regulatory frameworks, policies, and procedures – desirable

Negotiation skills – desirable

Experience working with large energy users or in energy retail, trading, or consultancy – desirable

Industry network contacts – desirable

Experience in energy market modelling, forecasting, financial modelling and risk analysis – desirable
