Job Summary
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Drafter to support our ACMV (Air-Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation) projects. The role combines quantity surveying, cost estimation, project documentation, and technical drafting responsibilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, engineers, site team, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate quantity take-offs, cost control, drawings, and project documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Quantity Surveying / Commercial
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and measurements for ACMV works based on drawings, specifications, and site requirements.
Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), quotations, cost estimates, and tender submissions.
Review tender drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope, quantities, and discrepancies.
Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare variation orders, progress claims, final accounts, and cost reports.
Monitor project costs and assist in maintaining accurate cost records.
Verify subcontractor and supplier claims against actual work completed.
Assist in procurement by comparing prices, specifications, and commercial terms.
Track material quantities and usage to minimise wastage and cost overruns.
Assist in identifying potential commercial risks and cost implications.
Maintain proper documentation for project-related commercial matters.
Drafting / Technical
Prepare and update ACMV / M&E shop drawings, layout drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.
Produce drawings for ductwork, chilled water piping, refrigerant piping, equipment layouts, ventilation systems, and other ACMV installations.
Interpret architectural, structural, and M&E drawings and coordinate ACMV requirements accordingly.
Incorporate site changes and engineer/consultant comments into drawings.
Coordinate drawings with other trades to identify and resolve clashes before installation.
Conduct site measurements and update drawings based on actual site conditions.
Maintain proper drawing registers, revisions, and document control.
Assist engineers and project managers with technical drawings and project documentation.
Project Coordination
Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, site supervisors, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Attend site meetings or coordination meetings when required.
Support the project team in resolving discrepancies between drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
Assist with material submissions, technical submissions, and other project documentation.
Ensure drawings and commercial documents are prepared accurately and submitted within project deadlines.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, M&E Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience in ACMV / M&E contracting will be an advantage.
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
Knowledge of ACMV systems, ductwork, piping, ventilation, and mechanical services is preferred.
Familiarity with quantity take-off and measurement for M&E/ACMV works.
Experience with Excel, Microsoft Office, and construction/project documentation.
Knowledge of BIM/Revit or other drafting software is an advantage.
Good understanding of construction drawings and technical specifications.
Able to read and interpret architectural, structural, and M&E drawings.
Good communication, coordination, and organisational skills.
Able to work independently as well as with project teams.
Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
Preferred Experience
2–5 years of relevant experience in ACMV, M&E, construction, or building services.
Experience working with ACMV contractors, main contractors, consultants, or subcontractors is preferred.
Candidates with stronger Quantity Surveying or Drafting experience may also be considered.
