Responsibilities:

Underwrite new applications for High Net Worth Plans, ensuring sound risk assessment and consistent decision-making.

Review, countersign, and provide technical guidance to junior underwriters to maintain quality and adherence to underwriting standards.

Provide expert underwriting advice to financial planners through various communication channels, including e-booking platforms, emails, and calls.

Act as a liaison between New Business Underwriting (NBU) and distribution channels, fostering strong business relationships.

Ensure that all department KPIs and service standards, including turnaround times and quality benchmarks, are consistently met.

Conduct underwriting training sessions for distribution channels and internal stakeholders.

Participate in projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing underwriting guidelines and streamlining processes for improved efficiency and customer experience.

Identify business and regulatory compliance risks, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.

Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulatory developments, and technological advancements to safeguard business interests.

Proactively address potential risks/issues and recommend best practices for effective risk management.

Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and leadership in all underwriting-related activities.

Requirements:

Degree holder with more than 10 years of underwriting experience, including at least 2–3 years in High Net Worth underwriting.

Consideration for non-degree holders with significant relevant experience and/or professional underwriting certifications.

Strong technical expertise in Life, Accident, Critical Illness, Disability, and Health underwriting, along with sound judgment and decision-making skills.

Excellent analytical skills to assess complex High Net Worth cases and perform effectively under pressure.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.

High level of integrity, accountability, and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.

Demonstrated initiative in driving improvements and adapting to change in a dynamic environment.
