What you'll be doing

Aboriginal Peer workers will draw on their own lived experience and cultural expertise to provide culturally safe, recovery-oriented and trauma-informed support to people who access the service The service will open Thursday to Sundays and include public holidays.
As an Aboriginal Peer Worker you will use lived experience as an Aboriginal person navigating your own journey of suicidal ideation or attempts to support other people using the Safe Haven. You will ensure that the care pathways are culturally appropriate and people are given the appropriate support to access other services. There is also an aim that you will be able to contribute to building the cultural capacity of the service to work with Aboriginal people in environments and systems that are not always appropriate for Aboriginal people.
