The Aboriginal Health Team is multi-disciplinary team of Enrolled and Registered Nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, Aboriginal Outreach Workers and Care Coordinators, supported by a variety of Specialists and Allied Health Workers. This role is vital in supporting the delivery of care coordination and health services to local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the Northern Sydney area, covering the Northern Beaches, Hornsby, and Ryde regions, with a focus on improving access to healthcare, health screening, chronic disease management, and health promotion. As an Aboriginal Outreach Worker, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to promoting community engagement and health promotion activities. You will help individuals and families attend health appointments and clinics, contributing to their overall wellbeing and that of the community. This position will be based in Macquarie Park, and may include working from additional locations including Dee Why. This opportunity is available part-time (30 hours per week), fixed-term to 30 June 2026, with the possibility of extension. 1. Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be an active member within the local Aboriginal communities
2. Certificate III or IV in Aboriginal Health Work or health related discipline or willingness to work towards
3. Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people and their health
4. Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and communicate sensitively with Aboriginal people to address their health needs
